My name is Marco Loregian. I am a research associate at the Department of Informatics, Systems and Communication of the University of Milano-Bicocca and I am also contributing to the design on an innovative workstation called itsme.

I was born in Padova (Italy) on September 1st, 1977. At the moment, I live near Milan. I took my Computer Science master degree at University of Milano-Bicocca in July 2002, and a PhD in Computer Science at the same university in January 2006. This web page presents my publications and topics of interest; don't hesitate to contact me if you think interest in collaborating could be reciprocal.

A detailed version of my curriculum vitae in european standard format is available (in Italian) here.

My research areas are Ubiquitous Computing, Human-Computer Interaction, CSCW, and Ontologies (as in the Semantic Web, like in this project). I've been working in the ATELIER (Architectures and Technologies for Inspirational Learning Environments) project within the Disappearing Computer initiative, and followed the after-delivery development of the MILK (Multimedia Interaction for Learning and Knowing) project.

I have a particular interest in the problem of Undo, which I am studying from different perspectives (see publications below).

My publications are listed below, sorted according to publication date. Click on the title to download the paper (when possible); bibtex entries and presentations (pdf or slideshare) are also available. See also my H-index.

My PhD dissertation , in accord with my research areas of interest, describes a conceptual and computational framework to support context-aware interaction in shared workspaces by means of a distributed ontologies. Complex as it seems, it is the summa of three years of work in heterogeneous fields (CSCW, HCI, KR).

My teaching activities include, among other topics, Java programming (to variously skilled audiences), Interaction Design, and Groupware, as the software supporting CSCW. I have also taught the basic concepts of Computer Networking, Web design and Usability, Disabilities and Accessibility, Content Management, and Personal Information Management.
